First time reading this author. Picked the book because of the star ratings and reviews. Hate giving up on a book so I continued on even though the sex scenes became beyond sexy and just went to raunchy. The story was different and would have been much better with just sexy.
Loved these characters!
This is the book for you if you like twisty, mysterious stories. The way this book was written so perfectly kept me on the edge of my seat to see what would happen next. There are little teases strewn throughout of what you will find out and I didn't want to stop reading until I did. The main characters Evangeline and Ixion are so interesting. They're broken and eccentric. I think I could definitely consider them a favorite couple of mine. If you have read the Turning Series, you have an idea about what might happen here... but this story is almost more tender than it is dirty. I was surprised about how emotionally connected I became to these two characters. By the end, the pieces come together and I was just blown away because as always, what you think you know isn't quite the way it ends up.

This game is not what you think it is!

Once again, I’ve just finished a JA Huss book and I’m left floundering for the words. The words I need to string together intelligently to describe my thoughts on this book and to write a review that will be worthy of what I want and need to say about this story. She does this to me every time I read her latest release. She pieces together the most complex of stories, one that is so multilayered that you need to focus on nothing but this book, highlighting passages you can review along the way and try to figure out where the story is going to go.
If you have already read the Turning series by Julie, you have met and probably fell in love with Jordan Wells. At least I did, anyway. If you haven’t met him, don’t fret, you will not be missing out on anything because this book doesn’t have anything to do with the events that take place in that series. There are a few characters from that series that are integral to this story, but in a whole new way. And I am thinking that once you’ve read Total Exposure, you’ll be very tempted to go back and read the Turning series.
Evangeline Rolaine was a world renowned child prodigy, a violinist performing concerts for kings and heads of state by the time she was four years old. But all that attention, that total exposure, can really mess with a child’s head. So much so that by the time she was sixteen, she had a meltdown and locked herself away in her apartment for the past decade, never performing again.
Enter Ixion, a man whose past is tied indelibly to Jordan’s. Once friends, but now nothing more than two men still trying to deal with events in the past that changed both their lives forever. Jordan wants Ix to watch Evangeline. Just watch her in a house for a week. Don’t talk to her, don’t interact, never let her see you. She knows he will be there, so it’s more of a psychological game, a way of exposing Evangeline to the world again, all without talking to a single soul. Her doctor is forcing a tough love approach on her, because Evangeline has scheduled a comeback concert, and she’s not ready.
So just when you think you are following the path that Julie has laid out: heroine knows that “someone” is watching her to help her overcome her irrational fear, the path goes askew, and the game of Total Exposure is completely redefined. This plan to help Evangeline was originally thought up by Jordan, who has been playing a version of the Total Exposure game for a long time. Ixion is aware of Jordan’s game, having been his friend growing up and getting pulled into the games unwillingly. And it was one of Jordan’s games that completely changed their lives and ruined their friendship. What better way to get back at someone who has totally messed up your life than by changing their game?
I’m not going to say any more than that because it will ruin your reading experience and you need to into the book with no preconceived notions. Just read it, experience it, feel what Ix and Evangeline feel. It gets pretty heavy at times! I felt a lot of feels for both Evangeline and Ix, in different ways and for different reasons. But I have to say I was spellbound by this story! Julie never fails to deliver a book that will totally screw with your head and your heart before bringing it to a most satisfying conclusion. And the epilogue sets us up for the next book in the series. I can’t wait for that one to see what happens!

Expect the unexpected!

That was not at all what I was expecting! I don’t know why I’m even surprised that this author surprised me again. It just seems to be a given that I’m never going to get what I expect. I can’t tell you how much enjoyment I get when an author constantly surprises me like this.
It’s so hard for me to review JA Huss because I like to go in blind with her books. I like having to constantly guess what’s going to happen and I don’t want to take that away from anyone reading my review. So, I’ll do my usual warnings and you can decide if you want to proceed or not. My advice is to go in blind.
JA Huss likes to bring her readers the damaged souls you can’t help but fall for. She likes to to show you how broken they are and the journey it takes to heal them. That path is usually dark and twisty and probably will push some boundaries, but it is worth every moment! ARC provided by author.
Good Lord, JA Huss! Where do you come up with this stuff? If I could live in your mind for one day, I think I would probably be so overwhelmed that my head would explode. It would be well worth it though. This just might be one of my most favorite of your books. The plot was inspired, the writing fantastic, and the characters explosive. These characters are so multi-faceted and nuanced. They are beyond compelling, and they completely draw you into the story. I was absolutely hooked on this story from page one and remained riveted to the very last word. I never knew exactly what to expect, and the anticipation was thrilling. Beyond that, the depth of feeling in this piece was just extraordinary. This book was insightful and intriguing, impassioned and romantic, engaging and enticing, and absolutely enthralling. I would highly recommend it and look forward to more of Jordan’s games.

Get ready for a new game!
The queen of mindf*** is back with a brand new game and tale that will not only test your limits and push you to your boundaries, but will also give your brain one hell of a heavy workout! This was certainly a little different from what I thought the first book in Jordan’s Game would be. Yes, it’s a spin-off from The Turning Series, but it didn’t have that quad or ménage factor anymore. So maybe a tad less provocative? But don’t get me wrong—if you’re a fan of J. A. Huss and have read her other books, you'd know that she has a ton of tricks up her sleeve and that she’d find some other way to amp up the heat, grit and seduction in this book. And man, did she ever.
Ixion Vanir and Evangeline Rolaine’s story was far from simple in every which angle you look at, but it’s in those tiny details that make Total Exposure so much more compelling and more unputdownable. This is definitely a slow burn kind of romance. It started slower than I’m used to with this author, but once it picked up—once it reached that climax I was waiting for—it never let up. When I reached that moment, I just felt like I was never coming back down anytime soon. And it’s almost like experiencing sensation overload with how flawless the game, their exposure, their relationship and everything else was laid all throughout.
With J. A. Huss, you truly just have to learn to expect the unexpected because next thing you know, she’ll be jerking the wheel so hard on the already mind-numbing and heart-clenching journey you’re on that you’re still guaranteed to have a massive whiplash. Twists and turns will bombard you from both sides, making you latch on to even the littlest details or clues and try to piece that information together, all the while you’re still paying close attention to the chemistry firing up between Ix and Evangeline. It’s all so brilliantly put together. Seriously, every time I devour the words by this author, I get this feeling that I’m reading a novel that’s completely in its own romance sub genre. Her stories are just that wicked clever.
I’m glad this spin-off is happening. Jordan Wells is definitely one sick mothertrucker, but I do want to get to know him more and figure him out. Eventually. I’m ready for more of his games! Bring on The Pleasure of Panic!

I loved this story! Ixion and Evangeline are the players in this game, one they may not know they’re
playing, though the stakes are high for each of them. Evangeline is a former child prodigy violinist who
has become an anxiety ridden recluse. Jordan brings Ixion on board for a radical treatment approach to
I don’t want to give away too much, but if you’ve never read a Huss book before, you just need to trust
that this author will take you on a ride you don’t expect, and you’ll love every second of it. Nobody does
romantic suspense the way Huss does! In most of her books, her characters are deeply flawed and at
first glance you don’t think you’ll like them. Huss, however, is masterful at creating depth and letting
you get inside their heads so that you really “get” them and love them by the end. Evangeline and Ixion
are two such characters, and Jordan…well we’ll see…this is his game after all and there’s more to come.
I can’t wait to get to know him better.

Ixion is one hot complicated man. Evangeline is one screwed up complicated woman. They make for one simply complicated complete couple. They are not looking for anything but what they find in each other makes them both complete. A must read.
