Brain Maker details the complex microbiome that lives in the human gut and how it affects the brain. Rising rates of Alzheimer’s disease, mood disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), multiple sclerosis, autism, and other conditions are linked to imbalances in the thousands of microorganisms that colonize the gut, primarily bacteria. Disruptions to this microbiome can begin at birth for children born via cesarean section because these babies do not acquire their mother’s microbiome traits from the birth canal.   • Horrible synopsis

    The overview was a literal skim of the book. No meat was included such as the 5 core probiotics required to heal the gut. No recipes or other suggestions. The author of this horrible cliff note literally said, "You need to read this book. Don't skip it." What a waste!! I have read the book and misplaced it. I purchased the cliff note version to hopefully get my hands if the five recommended probiotics. I have now ordered the whole book again. This Cliff Notes version was worthless. The brain Maker is an excellent book and I do highly recommend it.

    There are so many things that affect the microbiome of the human gut, I couldn't have imagined that it could be the microorganisms imbalances which are responsibly for disorders of mood and attitude. It's good to read this review of a technical book in more easy ways to understand

    An incredible book you have to read !. This book is one of my favorites is very interesting and very useful. You learn very interesting things, for example I did not know that higher rates of Alzheimer's disease is linked to imbalances in microorganisms in our gut, really worth reading and see how your brain is related to other parts your body.
